Miss Black Oregon Scholarship Pageant 2010 - The Event!

This was my third year back and I can say, it gets easier every time! This year, the vibe backstage was different. A good vibe. Not so crazy vibe. Joe Bean was running thangs on the stage while Sonie was making her final perfections on her hosting duties and Felicia was giving some tips on the dance steps.... the ladies were getting ready with hair and makeup, practicing their dance moves, giggling, helping each other, praying together... Moon Rok and I weren't as nervous to shoot this year. I think he got bored at one point! lol  Me, on the otherhand... super nervous to sing the Black National Anthem for the opening of the show! I don't know why I signed up for it. My butterflies are more like flying monkeys! Turns out, they double booked me and Toni Hill to sing the song at the beginning of the show for me and during intermission for her. Well, guess what came first? lol Yes! Me. (sigh) I think I could've done a better job since it was my 900th time singing the song! lol Toni saved the day during intermission with a beautiful poem and Rodeezy aka Rochell Hart rocked the crowds stockings off with her poetry. I don't think they know what hit them!

Camera ready photo shoot for an awesome local model and actress, Kacy! We went down to the far northwest side of downtown on a spontaneous whim and rocked it out with the available light. Thanks to Tom and his ability to follow directions and hold a reflector skills and Kacy and her gifted self, we got these shots...

Shot down in the Pearl District, Portland Oregon right as the sun was going down.

I always feel weird shooting in that area for some reason... I dunno.

Illaj is crazy fun to work with and Annie Angell is always a pleasure mhmm and Dj Dr. Adam is freshhhhhh

Thirsty Autumn Thursdays

If you're grown, sexy and like a nice place to get your swerve on, Thirsty Thursdays at Whiskey City are the place to be. Remember Rock n Roll Pizza?? Tis no more! It was dark, kinda scurry and you were all caged in if you wanted to drink... not the case anymore. This place has done a 180 and if I had time and more money to blow on alcohol, I'd be kickin it here. lol I mean, free pool tables and a tight spot to chill... worth checking out, at least to see what they've done to the place. It looks amazing!!!

I had the pleasure of shooting this little bug here for her modeling portfolio. We shot in the northwest downtown area of Portland. She was a blast and could drop a mean mug in an instant! Very cool 6 year old.
